Daniel Hernandez, a triple threat of Boston style hosted a fashion show to introduce his new line of men’s and women’s apparel to Boston’s fashion sector. As a reputable hair stylist, fashion designer, and makeup developer, Daniel is popular amongst the city’s fashion initiators. His show took place in his own studio on Clarendon St. The lofty room, was quaint but provided a sense of comfortableness amongst his guests. Daniel’s line “Details De Couture” showcased fun, funky designs with an edge. He began the show by saying that it doesn’t matter whether you are male or female, both are equivalent. The theme of the show was “Androgynoux”. In order to capture it he opened with a model that portrayed both sexes by being dressed in a wig only to rip it off before exiting the runway. The clothing he designed for this line incorporates masculine and feminine concepts into each piece.
With hairstyling at his forte, Daniel did not by any means allow the hairstyles of the models to detract attention away from the clothing designs he was exhibiting. Each and every model had their hair slicked and pulled back. He created interesting yet uncomplicated styles with bobby pins on each female model that added dimension as well as kept the hair in place. In order to maintain focus on apparel, Daniel kept the hair creations simple making sure that they would not detract any attention away from the clothing he was introducing.
Designs found on the runway were comfortable and functional. A good portion of them displayed Daniel’s signature crest with his DH initials. He also showed signature hooded sweaters, t-shirts, and jeans which displayed the name of his line, “Details de Couture” printed on them. There were many classic pieces innovatively designed by combining his flair in order to create unusual garments. Solid but strong colors of black, white, and grey accompanied the rugged details of zippers, lace, and cutouts that were seen throughout the entire line. Other pieces consisted of an evening gown, dresses with drastic cutouts on the bodice, and a tailored button down shirt worn backwards with a zipper up the front. Not one garment Daniel displayed was left without detail.
