Hello everyone this is my new blog, I have created this space to express my ideas and to archive information about my work, Androgynoux my latest fashion presentation part of fashion week boston 2009, was truly in my opinion such a great combination of art, fashion, photography and group effort, the event was a process that took me about 10 months to complete, here is a picture by photographer Michael Thomas, that I feel captured the essense of the opening. As most of you know I enjoy presenting my work with a story theme, in the last show RENEXANCE the story was about 12 queens that ruled the universe and me being in charge of dressing the queens, created a wardrobe that incorporated ideas from the 1600s to my interpretation of the future,
There for this year's story began with a doll, a beautiful female doll that represents in my eyes todays expected visual of a woman, than comes along the androgynoux creature that wants to be acepted that wants to be loved and wants to be beautiful, and as hard as it tryes it realizes that it will never be like the beautiful doll, the creature becomes outraged and completly destroys its outer image and compleatly falls apart, (this is when it gets almost naked on stage LOL) in the process of hitting rock bottom the creature realizes that without uglyness there can be no beauty and begins realizing its not about how the outsiders see the creature but about how the creature sees itself. This entire theme to me represents a very important factor that I feel has compleatly changed the way I see the world from the moment I came in to this country to today. what I mean by this is we now judge a president for its capabilities and not by the color of its skin, we follow and listen to our liders by what they have to say and not by their sexual preference, I today see a woman as powerful as a man or as stupid as man and not as a gender, in a time where so much is going on lets not forget how far we've come! This collection its to inspire us human beings to speak, and to acknowledge that whats between your legs or whats not, how tall you are or how short you are. how beautiful you thnik you are or you are not, does not really matter. We live in a time where we really dont know what tomorrow will bring there for if you have something to say now its the time to say it, and what a better way to say it than by truly expressing visually who we are!! what I mean by this is there is no reason to not "look and feel your best".
